Te-Hina Paopao: What's next for the best shooter in college basketball?

In this edition of Gamecocks Talk with Captain Will, I bring you the latest updates and insights on the South Carolina Women's Basketball team, including the newest recruits.

As three-time NCAA National Champions, the team is gearing up to defend their title in the forthcoming season.

1) T-Heina Paopao prepares for the last chapter in her college career. What's next for the best shooter in college basketball? Ranked 11th in 2020 Recruiting class (4th guard) along with Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, Caitlin Clark, Kamilla Cardoso, Hailey Van Lith, and Deja Kelly.

2) Five transfers to keep an eye on during the 2024-2025 season: Ki Ki Irafen (Southern Califiornia Women's Basketball) Laila Phelia (Texas Women's Basketball) Raegan Beers (Oklahoma Women's Basketball) Lucy Olsen (Iowa Women's Basketball) Janiah Barker (UCLA Women's Basketball) Women's basketball is flourishing and continues to expand. 3) Gamecock alum, Qunicy Hall dominates at the Olympics in Paris. 

 

The women's college basketball season will kick off with a game against the Michigan Women's Basketball team in Las Vegas on November 4th. Led by Head Coach Dawn Staley, the team boasts dynamic players like Raven Johnson, Bree Hall, Chloe Kitts, and Ashlyn Watkins, with bench strength from MiLaysia Fulwiley, Tessa Johnson, and Sania Feagin. Fresh faces Maryam Dauda, Joyce Edwards, Maddy McDaniel, and Adhel Tac are expected to boost the team's performance this season.
