As three-time NCAA National Champions, the team is preparing to defend their title season.

The South Carolina Gamecocks open their SEC tournament defense Friday at 12:00 in Greenville, South Carolina. After finishing the regular season 27-3 and 15-1 in conference play, are they ready to defend?

Also, the SEC announced their postseason awards voted on by the coaches.

All-SEC Awards 

Player of the Year - Madison Booker, Texas Women's Basketball

Coach of the Year - Vic Shaefer, Texas Women's Basketball

Defensive Player of the Year - Clara Strack, Kentucky Women's Basketball

Freshman of the Year - MiKayla Blakes, Vanderbilt Women's Basketball 

Newcomer of the Year - Georgia Amoore, Kentucky Women's Basketball

Sixth Woman of the Year - MiLaysia Fulwiley, South Carolina Women's Basketball

Women's basketball is continuously evolving, with NCAA Women's Basketball and the WNBA receiving acclaim for their exciting gameplay.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Dawn Staley, the team includes players such as Raven Johnson, Bree Hall, Chloe Kitts, and Ashlyn Watkins, with strong bench support from MiLaysia Fulwiley, Tessa Johnson, and Sania Feagin.

Newcomers Maryam Dauda, Joyce Edwards, Maddy McDaniel, and Adhel Tac are expected to enhance the team's performance this season.
